One of the most important global summits is taking place these days in Davos, Switzerland: the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Not only for its participants, the cultural organisations Art Lines and Untitled Art Advisory and the La Femme gallery have prepared an art pop-up that will run in Davos until the end of February. Several international artists will present themselves to visitors. Glass art objects will be exhibited by the husband and wife team Alena Matějka and Lars Widenfalk, while Swiss painter Filip Haag will show his paintings.

"Czech glass art is still resonating in the world and I am very happy that we can present it in Davos through the work of the duo Alena Matějka and Lars Widenfalk. Moreover, during such an important event as the annual meeting of the International Economic Forum. I am delighted that the renowned Swiss painter Filip Haag will also present his paintings during the pop-up," says Ondřej Škarka, founder of the cultural institution Art Lines.

Czech glass, Swiss painting
Renowned artist Alena Matějka specializes in working with glass in her sculptural works, which she often combines with other materials such as stone, metal or organic elements. Her work transcends the traditional boundaries of glass art, combining surrealism, symbolism and motifs inspired by nature. Her partner Lars Widenfalk brings his specialty in stone sculpture to glass art. He uses glass as a medium for monumental and detailed works. His works often reflect a deep connection to history, mythology and the natural world, characterised by precise craftsmanship and an exploration of the contrasts of materials.

Filip Haag is a Swiss artist whose work focuses on expressive paintings combining texture, colour and form. From his studio at PROGR in Bern, he creates works that encourage introspection and open a space for dialogue. In a career that spans several decades, Haag has been featured in galleries and collections across Europe. His work focuses on themes of identity, transformation and the relationship between the visible and the invisible. Haag's projects reflect his desire to push the boundaries of artistic expression and to find new ways of connecting contemporary art to a wider context.
